Trans Women and Abortion Rights - It's Not a Women's Issue
"When we say it's a women's issue, we're in a place of erasure," she says. "Just because I can't have, don't mean I'm out of the game now, it doesn't affect me." The same for Black lives to be equal and to be treated fairly, also improves white people,. She adds: We want to divorce ourselves from these problems as if they don't affect us or won't end up at our front door.
Justin, Jamey and Liz sit down with award winning trans actress and activist Angelica Ross (POSE, AHS) to discuss what it means to be protected, who needs protection and what it looks like to be a true protector in a divided world. Through an array of brave commentary, Angelica shares vulnerable stories about her childhood, her relationship with her mother, how humanizing your parents can provide healing and her experience as a trans woman who often catches the eye of conventionally straight men.
