The History of NASTRAN

In the 1960s, a small analog computer manufacturer for aerospace industry was awarded a contract from NASA. They were contracted to develop what was called a general purpose finite element analysis code. And then they actually kept on creating a commercial version of the FEA code that is now known as NASTRAN.
