The garbage collector doesn't have sufficient information about what's inside objects that e would allow it to break it in half, or whatever. So if you were to maybe edit the size of an object that's already been allicated, probably something would get confused and et cetera. I bet this is fixible. But i doubt that it would be fixed soon, just cause i don't think it's the most important thing to improve in the go language.
