The Importance of Nahal in the Old Testament
The Hebrew word here is Nahal and you kind of have two different words for bodies, not bodies of water, but like river streams in the Old Testament. A Nahal is usually translated as a wadi and a wadi is basically a place where water flows often violently when you have rain, but most of the time it's just dried up. So that's what we're talking about here. It's not a spring. And if there's any water there, it's right after rains, the rest of the time is dried up. That's what we would call these creeks or crick depending on how long you live here.
