The Losing Reputation Effect of Sports Persons Making Endorsements
Journal felt compelled because they were alarmed, at least in part, at Trump's assault on democracy broadly and science in particular. They saw that his rising support represented an acute threat to something that they deeply believed in. But by issuing this thing, the problem metastasized. And so there's a small part of me that wonders, is it actually good that nature came out and revealed their strong political preference? People shouldn't have been trusting science as much as they were.
