How many of you sit down, stand up, whatever it is, and model the paragraph or even the entire essay with your students? So this is before they go write their own essay, you model it for them. A whole class period can go by where literally students are just watching you write an essay. And let's face it, your students have likely turned out after the first sentence or two, right?
