The Importance of a Short Adjective
The largest cheeseburger to date, weighed 914 kilograms. To make the comparative of big, the adjective big, we just add E-R to the end. Big is a short adjective which ends in a vowel and then a consonant. It usually happens when you've got a very short word, as you say.
