The Crusade of John the Fearless
In 1395, Philip the Bold's 24-year-old son dedicated his first deed of arms to the service of God. There would be a crusade, and at least nominally, John the Fearless would lead it. The crusade quickly turned into a one-sided Burgundian showcase. One French priest later said, quote, they might as well have talked to a deaf ass.
