Is the Food Subsidy Causing the Immigration Problems in Mexico?
It's actually cheaper to buy american food in mexico than it is to buy mexican food. The subsidies put all these farmers out of business, but they're still taking this up. Why wouldn't you take free money from the government? So they, they lobby to get the free money. And then there's now work in America, and there's no work in mexica, so they're coming over the border to get the jobs. It's not just, oh, we need to build a wall. How about we stop subsidizing o ironically, this is one of those, like, malcolm gladwell things.
