The Importance of Balance in Journalism
The legend goes that Joseph Pulitzer's stories on Cuba were basically the reason that the US entered the Spanish American war. The Washington Post put out a story last year where they said that over two thirds of Americans say that transgender girls would have a competitive advantage over other girls if they were allowed to compete with them in youth sports. It like makes sense that people would be interested in these values. But when we start talking about balance, I just don't really think there's a concise definition or explanation of what balance means.
