Lying contributes to our tendency to want quick fixes and fast rewards. Telling the truth helps us delay gratification so that we're more able to delay those kinds of rewards. Lying is one of the effortful, effortful things that we can try to do as a source of dope. What we have to be wary of is those o substances and those behaviours that make us instantly feel good. It's ok to use them, just need to use them in extreme moderation. Cause when people are adiction they're not just lying about their drug use, they start lying about everything.
