Aaron Carroll: It's been two and a half years since you were last on the show. You know, we were talking about what was happening in kind of the mid 2010s when there was all this kind of scare and hype around whether robots were going to take all of our jobs. But then the expected job losses didn't come. And now we're all hearing about how there's a tight labor market where there aren't enough workers,. Even at the same time as there's talks of once again technology taking all ofOur jobs.

Paris Marx is joined by Aaron Benanav to discuss OpenAI’s claims that generative AI will take our jobs, how previous periods of automation hype haven’t resulted in mass job loss, and why we need to ensure it doesn’t further empower employers.
