The Evolution of Play

Is there any point in evolution where we can concretely start talking about play? A lot of invertebrates, sponges and so they don't necessarily play. Some insects do, octopus do, we have evidence for spiders. And then fish, not many fish that we have good evidence for play, but some do. So I think that play is a phenomenon that has evolved frequently.
