The Different Types of Transferences

The church definition of psychoanalysis is the creation or the facilitation of a transferance neurosis that is then successfully resolved via interpretation from a position of analytic neutrality. The analyst doesn't say, yes, your dad was right. You will always be a failure. And instead they take a neutral position vis-a-vis those desires and expectations and you interpret it for them. Rather than something that's unconscious and happens to them, this can be more reflexiveness and consciousness rather than something that occurs in their conscious mind.
