The Lord Awoke, as From Sleep, Like a Strong Man

God let loose on Israel his fierce anger, wrath, indignation and distress. He did not spare them from death but gave their lives over to the plague. They twisted like a deceitful bow, for they provoked him to anger with their high places. God rejected the tent of Joseph; he chose the tribe of Judah in Zion. We thank you for this prayer that reminds us of all that you have done in our lives.
