US authorities blame Mexican drug gangs for supplying fentanyl to users across the United States. US President Joe Biden held talks with his Mexican counterpart, Andreas Manuel Lopez-Obrador in January. The words were warm and perhaps they needed to be since relations over drugs had become somewhat strained. Gustavo Muhar was head of Mexico's National Security Intelligence Agency from 2007 to 2011. He led operations against the drug cartels.
