Confederate Colonel John Pemberton used his medical degree to create Pemberton's French wine cocoa nerve tonic in 1885. The marriage of soda or pop or fizzy drink or soft drink or cola or lally water, depending on where you were raised, an alcohol was a lasting inheritance from prohibition.
