Colonial Resistance - The Convergence of Concepts
The British government and people like Hutchinson believed that that's exactly what they were doing, but they weren't saying it. They developed the belief that it was on the part of people like Sam Adams, a conspiracy also of their hiding their intention. Most people did not have that intention, but it could be construed that way in the resistance movement.
