Getting Over Dispassionate Reason

John dewey: We're trying to get over the idea that there is pure contemplative activity, which isn't tied to any values. And so i'm to jump to some traditional views of what we call a kind of disembodied conception of knowing. The tradition handed down to us the idea that knowledge had to be of the unchanging. But the fact is, everything's changing. Some thing's fast, and some things more slowly. So a knowledge is about adapting to and and having some say in the way things change and go forward.
