The Agreement Between Plato and Kant

Schopenhauer believes that both men pointed to the same fundamental truth, which is discoverable by reason. Plato's ideas identify something which is not strictly phenomena, nor thing in itself. Each individual person stands for his own special, individualized platonic idea. And so each phenomenon is a particular pattern within the material world that the will can take.
