The Importance of Opening Pressure in Lumbar Punctures

The only super useful time to look for opening pressure is if you suspect the patient has IIH. A patient with IIH who has raised intracranial pressure, it's idiopathic. They usually are younger, female, higher BMI, might be on estrogen. The reason they grumble along is every time someone takes a CT, it's normal and they say, oh, you have migraine or don't worry about it.
