i'm five years old. I love to look out the window at night when i'm riding in the car and watch the moon. It really does look like it's keeping right up with the speeding vehicle. Well, the reason for this is that it's a little bit of an optical illusion. The earth is rotating around once every 24 hours, which is pretty slow. You driving one mile is insignificant in terms of how it makes the moon look on the sky.
