I never in a hundred years would have foreseen that divorce would have been the greatest ever hit to my finances and my net worth. When we got engaged neither of us had substantial assets, our net worth was not significantly different so I just didn't think it mattered. You don't know if you're going to start a real estate investing empire during your marriage and that's what a prenup can protect. And if I had a pren up that said any books I write any business I start then we wouldn't have been in the mess that we got into which I know we're going to talk about more.
