Ray: I thought that was a really interesting way of looking at it. It just shows the importance of always interpreting art efects and their proper archaeological contexts. But i also think it cound hove help ut understand more what misean trade was about. Why? Because we don't see something like these imported objects being displayed as some sort of method of self aggrandizing behavior. And mi think it was much more about acquiring various commodities that were dear because they were hard to acquire locally, but then transforming those right into the things that people in the aegean wanted rather than a scare of which is not that useful to them.
