I think that in the case of countries that are not advanced democracies, obviously there's a real tension here and the stakes are higher. You have to let the democratic process play out. I can't guarantee substantively good outcomes before the process is an emotion. The founding fathers were very skeptical of democracy in this sense. And you can just go back and look at what John Adams or James Madison said about democracy.
