Gospel writer John feels that he has remarkable license to kind of coach you. Go to John chapter six, if you have your New Testament out. There's a huge parenthetical remark right there and seven of Mark. The one you had in seven and mine here in six actually suggests we're talking about readers who don't know Judaism as well as we think. So therefore, they need just a little bit of coaching, reminding about what this story is about.
