Some people do naturally reduce their energy intake on time restricted eating. That's where the weight loss aspect, I think, or the majority of the weight loss comes from is because you're not intentionally telling someone to restrict the energy intake. It's just a consequence of monitoring or modifying the timing. So, oh, you can't eat past seven. Oh, well, that, you know, that extra bowl of ice cream and those two beers that you were going to have, don't fit in that time window.
