Elsa's Journey to the Sea

Elsa stood at the water's edge, her toes touching the crystalline cool water. She had never seen such clear translucent waters. It was as if she was suspended in mid-air, high above some sandy desert landscape. The seabed was smooth and malleable, clay-like in its unctuous texture. What surprised her the most were the myriad pine cones at the bottom of the sea. Somehow they had tumbled out of the trees beyond the beach and rolled along the sand. Now they lay their submerged, having been turned into shelter for crabs and other quick creatures that zoomed about,. taking no notice of Elsa among them.
