Raymond Carroll's Alibi
Air Force records confirmed that Raymond Carroll had indeed graduated from the training course in Edinburgh on April 19, 1973. Investigators couldn't find any Air Force records to back up the claims that Carroll had been granted a leave. The only way he would have made it to Ipswich in time for Deirdre Kennedy's murder was if he'd flown. A forensic expert deemed that Carroll's hair was of similar colour and texture to the hairs found on Deirdre's body but there was nothing to conclusively say they had to be able to do it. They actively say the hairs belonged to Carroll. He agreed to provide fingerprints, hair samples and a plaster cast of his teeth.
