After three months, the droppings at the bottom of the bird cages had become three layers thick and Norah Ibrahim decided it was time to let the birds fly free. The winds that swept through Cape Town swept through and lifted all 50 pigeons up into a cloud of feathers as if to say, it does not matter how long you have kept us in cages. South Africa, we sing a song of strength. We never let gravity become too familiar because we were always meant to fly.
