The whole idea of what emotions are is constantly changing and I think it's because it's hard to track the signs isn't there yet. The best we can do is stick people in fMRI machine and show them pictures and say how do you feel which is about as realistic as I feel like I'm trapped in an MRI machine. There's lots of great theories out there about them back when you talk about brown and Darwin Darwin particularies was very much a we evolved emotions side of it is still very strong even now that emotions are all we must feel things for a reason because we evolve.
