The Unconscious Is Always Unconscious

The work of the symbolic life is not merely something of academic interest or intellectual curiosity. At its heart, it is work of psychological and spiritual transformation. We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. If change were easy, we would all already have become the version of ourselves that we desire. But change is not easy, and even when we seek it out, we are often not prepared to embrace it.
