Dr. Dorian: Typical scenario is an 83 year old patient who's been on beta blockers for 20 years at some moderate dose, not overdosed. They gradually develop for pharmacokinetic reasons, their elimination of the beta blocker slows down. And so then you end up with the bradicardia, plus this renal failure, hyperkalemia and shock. Dr. Heideity: This is something that I've probably seen and missed many times. The good news is you probably are in terrific shape. But the bad news is you still have to work out tonight.
