The new sounds in MuseScore are better than all the sounds in all the paid applications. They're a lot better even than note performer, which is what I think a lot of us who are in this kind of middle ground between wanting slightly nicer sounds and not prepared to spend the time and money on fancy sample libraries. The free Muse sounds sound at least twice as good as no performer. And they're very, very impressive,. And they're free.
