The Importance of Friendship in the Cold War
At least 130 countries have had some kind of Israeli defense equipment. Israel does this, I guess, for a few reasons in its logic: One, it makes money. But two, it's to make friends. The Guatemalan regime at the time was asking for Israeli experience, so to speak, Israeli training, Israeli know-how. This was principally because they saw and admired what they were doing in the West Bank.
