How to Memorize the Hormone Pathway

The most common congenital adrenal hyperplasia syndromes are 21 hydroxylase deficiency, 17 alpha hydroxyl enzyme deficiency and 11 alpha hydroxilase deficiency. The key things we're worried about with these Syndromes are aldosterone levels and testosterone levels. If you have an elevated aldosterone level, we know what aldosterone does. So it's going to give us hypertension and hypokalemia. And they're going to ask you which of those patients will be on the list for CTH surgery.
