How to Avoid Wet Basements While Still Sinking Rainwater
Bob Greene says vegetation is a living pump, and it sounds to me that it would be beneficial to plant more living pumps in areas where you've got the water seeping into the basement. He suggests planting species that are all-spreducing food, wildlife habitat, medicinal production. And as you create your rain gardens, don't put them on the upslope side of the house, rather put it on the downslope side for better drainage.
