CHAPTER

The Deathhood of the 1960s and Warhol

Nicole Kidman's new book follows the experiences of a young typist in New York. It was inspired by an essay she wrote about her time working as an intern at Warhol's factory. Did you ever think you might just work on that? That's a great question. I actually hadn't thought about that essay and now that you've brought it up, I'm like, oh, it is connected. And if you think about it in the context of the book, she was sort of this unseen presence the same way that Warhol is like an unseen kind of, but very powerful presence.
