It's not possible to have small group instruction all day long. How much instruction are students really getting? They're working independently more often. We do want students to become so automatic with this that it is no longer part of our instruction. So when we think about that fluency, being able to complete these tasks orally and through the air quickly and automatically is going to transfer to print.
