The Marata Empire - I Don't Know Why It Was Not Done

The maratas did recover the whole of india from the moguls. And they also allowed the so called nominal mugal emperor to stay in power in delli. So i don't know why this was done. Maybe there were political reasons for this,. But yes, that's a question that i would like some historians or experts in marata history to answer.
