The Hacking of the Matrix
Seth Godin sees society as this dialectical product where human beings through their activity produce this social product, and then it becomes objectivized into what he calls an external facticity. He doesn't really go into a lot of detail about that but the point is that all the stuff that we produce turns around and becomes a coercive constraint on us. That's kind of what the hacking is talking about with the matrix,. All the sense in which these institutional arrangements shape us.
