What Has It Feeled Like to Be a Deeply Multilingual Person in This Weirdly English-Dominated Space?
Dawa: I consider myself an AI person like so a lot of my work is multi-modal but this is language first yeah language is my main interest how frustrating or bizarre has it felt to be a deeply multi-lingual person? Dawa: It's just so English-dominated the research itself the tools down to the very data that we're training these things on. The accessibility of language models and the multilinguality of language models where that really matters is for people who are monolingual and who don't speak English.
