The challenge of this sort of algarythmic intermediation, is that don't know what the outcomes necessarily are. And i think that while in large part it is a black box. But we do know some things. It does create polarization and filter bubbles of information which can be directly tied to real world consequences like the dramatic rise of affective political polarization in the united states.
