How to Write a Better First Sentence
As a writer, there's so much pressure. And oftentimes you think your first sentence is notit is the first sentence, and it turns out to be on page 85. A better first sentence often arises a later. Once that self consciousness starts to dissipate in the hard work of sustaining a story, i think language gets freed - even if you knew it fully at the beginning.
