The Effect of Audience Tuning on Presentations

When we explain something to somebody else, we sort of take into account their knowledge. We also take into account the other person's opinions and say it in a way that will most resonate with them. In classic studies on this, people listened to a speech about legalizing mariwana but then they were told to summarize for another person who was either pro legalization or anti legalization. And what thea researchers found was that when people summarized a speech for someone they knew was pro legalization, they gave it a more pro legalization spin.
