John Anderson has written a style manual called The Sense of Starnell. He says that reading good prose can improve your ability to be articulate and eloquent. When you come across something that seems compelling or stylish, just pause and think what made it work? It is a lot of patterns superimposed in the brain that lead to "a good ear," he says.
