The Bombing of a Japanese Aircraft
The initial blast caused the aircraft to bank hard to the right, which was immediately corrected by the autopilot. It also severed some of the cables that connected the steering controls of both the captain and the first officer. They would they're trying to get on the ground as quickly as possible. If they hadn't been delayed, they would have been way further out in the sea at this point.
