Gold rock is by definition something that can be subdivided almost endlessly and washed and prepared in various means. In this way gold is very much incorporated into the kind of moral economy of these agrarian spaces, so I tried to understand what it might offer as an alternative right or if nothing else a complimentary view to how we might think about extraction. Many people in these settings do want corporate mining they just don't want corporate mining to be the only show in town you knowso it's also thinking about how these resources can be subdivider in complementary ways"
