I Call 911 for a Caucasian Male With a Head Injury

A cop car pulls into the gas station, only it doesn't stop at the pumps. The cops ask if a Caucasian male with a head injury had stopped by about a week prior. He'd been attacked with a blunt object, alright, but his wounds were inflicted by a homeowner after he tried to break into his young daughter's bedroom in the middle of the night. It made me sit to my stomach thinking I tried to help a guy like that and it suddenly made all the sense in the world why he ran when I mentioned calling 911.
