The Effects of Noise on Hearing
We measure noise in a unit called decibel. Anything above 85, if humans are exposed to that noise for a prolonged period of time, it will damage our hearing. For every additional 10 decibels that you are exposed to, your chances of heart disease, of stroke, diabetes all go up. People who are already experiencing health impacts because of their social determinants of health also experience additional health risks by living in noisier than better off neighborhoods.
